Some couples want a different kind of wedding. For instance horse lovers or couples who love the Old West might want to have a western wedding. The bride and groom plan their whole wedding around a western theme. They even plan a Western Wedding Cake.
A couple who is planning a western wedding still wants an elegant wedding that everyone will remember for a long time. Although the wedding is far from traditional, it can still be beautiful and elegant. The perfect Western Wedding Cake is the icing on the cake.
There are several ways to decorate a Western Wedding Cake. One great idea is to choose flora and fauna indigenous to the Western part of the United States. Before going to the cake baker, the bride should do some research to see what kind of western flowers and plants to put on the cake. After the bride has narrowed down her choices as what flowers she really likes, she can take her pictures to the baker to see how the pictures can be incorporated into the cake. If the bride has already chosen her colors, the cake flowers should blend as well as possible.
Another way to decorate a Western Wedding Cake is to depict a western ranch. The cake would be square rather than round. With graduating layers a ranch house can be formed along with a barn and fences. The cake could even look like the house and farm on the old television show Dallas. Everyone would love that kind of cake.
A Western Wedding Cake doesn't have to have horses and cattle unless the bride and groom want them for the cake. Forming animals for the cake in chocolate does make the price of the cake go up. Another way to depict the animals is through spray painting or even hand painting. These techniques also up the price of the cake.
Still another idea is to have the Western Wedding Cake depict an old-fashioned western town. The bride could find a lovely picture of an old-fashioned western town that could be replicated on the cake. The cake topper would be a bride and groom dressed in wedding attire typical of the western era. These may have to be specially made but there are Internet site that make bride and groom cake toppers to order. The site will even create the bride and groom to match the real couple.
If the bride and groom don't want to have a cake that is too western, they can create a traditional wedding cake and use a Western Wedding Cake for the groom's cake. In that way, the couple can have a gunfight cake or an old western saloon. With the groom's cake, the couple can break all of the rules and have fun.
A Western Wedding Cake is the perfect centerpiece for a western theme wedding. With some ingenuity and creativity, any great cake baker can make a cake that would make any cowboy or cowgirl happy.
